Total China Donates RMB 2 Million to Help Fight the Coronavirus Epidemic

Beijing, Feb 26, 2020 - Total China announced that it had donated RMB 2 million to China Charity Federation (CCF) to help China fight the coronavirus epidemic. The donated fund will be designated to purchase medical supplies for the epidemic prevention and control in Hubei Province, support frontline hospitals and medical workers, as well as support the epidemic prevention and control work in other areas of Hubei Province.

At a time when China is fighting an all-out war against the epidemic, the thoughts of Total China’s employees are with the epidemic-hit areas and they hope to fulfill their responsibility to help the country ride out the current difficulties. In addition to cash donations, Total is also actively engaged in supporting frontline efforts to combat the epidemic. In Hubei Province, the hardest-hit area, smooth transportation is vital to transport relief supplies and personnel. Employees at 29 Total-operated service stations in Wuhan continued to work during the epidemic to ensure the adequate and continuous supply of fuel in every station. This helps the transportation of rescuers and supplies.

“As one of the first international energy companies entering China since China’s opening-up, Total has always regarded itself as an integral part of the country and has actively supported various social welfare undertakings, including public health,” said William Zhao, Total China Country Chair, “China is now at a critical juncture in the fight against the epidemic, and Total would like to extend gratitude to all medical staff and volunteers who are fighting in the frontline. At the same time, we also hope to do our best to work together with all walks of society to win this battle.”
